Exclamation  Cannot copy "gfx" file to PrettyMap "gfx" directory.

I have a "Problem: no styles found!" appearing on my PrettyMap4 Upgrade just installed on my Palm T/X. It said to copy txt files to "gfx" directory on my card. However, everytime I use my "Palm Install" program it said the files are already on my card in my "Documents to Go" program under "Documents" directory and will not install them againShy.

RE: Cannot copy "gfx" file to PrettyMap "gfx" directory.

Hello!

Actually, the most important file is "default.txt". When styles are missing, vector maps have no colors and drawing styles associated. The maps will work but will be rendered in white only. There are three ways to get the style files in place:

  1. You can use "automatic installer" of PrettyMap: http://www.prettymap.com/PrettyMap-Installer.prc
Just run it on the device and it will automatically copy all files where they should be
  2. You can use your favorite file manager on the Palm device to move style files into the "/PALM/Programs/PrettyMap/gfx" directory on the card
  3. Or you can insert the SD card directly into your desktop/laptop (if you have an SD card reader device available on your computer) and then directly copy the "gfx" subdirectory to the card.

Let me know if it helped!

Maciej

RE: Cannot copy "gfx" file to PrettyMap "gfx" directory.

Option 1 did the job! Thanks for the help.
I had tried Option 2 with the with the only file manager I could find on my palm (iSilo Program). I found the file in the Document directory. However, It's Move function only moved from card to device and back again. It had helped in the past, but not this time.
It would not allow me to change directories.
On Option 3, Only SD reader I have is on Palm.
Do you know if Palm OS comes with a File Manager Pre-installed?

Unfortunately, PalmOS devices do not have a good/useful file manager built-in, but you can get a good, free one, see for example:
